FROM ALABAMA- Capt. Eugene Blackford, son of Wm. M. Blackford, of this place, reached here yesterday with a company organized at Clayton, Al. The company numbers 100 strong and is called the Barbour Grays. Capt. Blackwood is but 22 years of age and graduated at Lynchburg College about three years since. Thus do Virginians everywhere respond to the call of their glorious old mother. Lynchburg College, too, is well represented in the army, it having furnished a considerable number of the officers now in service.
